MINSK, Feb. 3 (Xinhua) -- Belarus started military drills to check the combat readiness of its army, said the Defense Ministry on Monday.

To be inspected are the ability of strike-capable unmanned aerial systems to perform combat tasks with land troops, as well as the performance of radio-electronic warfare systems, said the ministry.

Through various tasks, the skill and competence of mechanized military units, as well as weapons, ammunition, and military equipment in performing the assigned tasks would also be assessed, it said.

Chief of the General Staff Pavel Muraveiko is the commander of the exercises.
