LAUSANNE, Jan. 30 (Xinhua) -- Italy's Dolomiti Valtellina has been confirmed as host of the 2028 Winter Youth Olympic Games (YOG) after a vote by the 143rd IOC Session here on Thursday.
Dolomiti Valtellina's vision for the Winter YOG is to amplify the socio-economic and sporting impacts of the Milan-Cortina 2026 Olympic Winter Games by returning to many of the same venues and reinvesting in community programs which promote physical activity, particularly for young people.
Further building on the legacy of Milan-Cortina 2026, the aim of these Winter YOG is to pass the baton to, and empower, a new generation of athletes and leaders. ■
