KIEV, Jan. 9 (Xinhua) -- Electric vehicle (EV) sales in Ukraine soared by 38 percent to more than 51,700 units last year, according to a report released on Thursday.
The report by the Ukravtoprom Association of Automobile Manufacturers shows that in 2024, a total of 50,458 electric passenger cars, 1,264 electric commercial vehicles, and two electric buses were registered in the country.
The best-selling new electric car models in 2024 included the Volkswagen ID.4, BYD Song Plus, Honda-M-NV and Zeekr 001.
In December, Ukraine's Ministry of Energy announced plans to build a network of 120 EV charging stations across the country by the end of 2026. ■
