BELGRADE, Dec. 30 (Xinhua) -- Serbia's Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Novi Sad has indicted 13 individuals over the roof collapse at Novi Sad Railway Station on Nov. 1, which left 15 dead and two seriously injured.

Among the accused are former Minister of Construction, Transport, and Infrastructure Goran Vesic, former Acting Assistant Minister Anita Dimoski, former Acting General Director of Serbian Infrastructure Railways Jelena Tanaskovic, and former General Director Nebojsa Surlan.

The four officials face charges of endangering public safety under the Criminal Code. The indictment also names structural designers, project chiefs, technical overseers, and construction workers involved in the project.

Following an investigation, the indictment was submitted to the Higher Court in Novi Sad. Prosecutors have requested extended detention for 10 of the accused and custody for Vesic, Dimoski and Tanaskovic, who remain free.

The prosecution is also seeking property claims, a ban on professional activities for the accused, and full reimbursement of court costs.

The Higher Court is expected to confirm the indictment soon, paving the way for trial proceedings.
