MOSCOW, Dec. 27 (Xinhua) -- The Russian navy has received its newest Yasen-M class nuclear submarine Arkhangelsk, local media reported Friday, citing the Russian Defense Ministry.
The submarine was officially handed over to the Russian Navy on Friday, RIA news agency reported.
Four more Yasen-M class submarines are reportedly under construction.
"The Arkhangelsk nuclear submarine cruiser is equipped to carry all types of naval missile weapons capable of effectively hitting both sea and coastal targets," RIA reported citing Navy Commander-in-Chief Alexander Moiseyev as saying. ■
