SKOPJE, Oct. 18 (Xinhua) -- Hungarian telecommunication giant 4iG has officially registered a new telecom company in North Macedonia, named One Macedonia Telecommunications. This move marks a significant step towards 4iG's goal of entering the country's telecommunication market.
The new company, founded by 4iG's subsidiary Antenna Hungaria Zrt, aims to offer a range of services including mobile, fixed, and satellite telecommunications, wholesale and retail of telecom and IT products, as well as business consulting services.
4iG expressed its intention to enter the North Macedonian market in August and signed a memorandum of understanding with the government in September. The company has pledged to provide faster and more reliable communication and internet services, and to invest in 5G, IT, and AI-based technologies to develop the digital ecosystem in the country.
4iG is a leading telecommunication operator in Hungary and the Western Balkan countries, with subsidiaries One Albania and One Montenegro serving nearly 2.2 million residential and 400,000 business customers in those regions. ■
