SARAJEVO, Sept. 10 (Xinhua) -- Five individuals suspected of corruption during the construction of a highway in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) were arrested on Tuesday, according to the country's federal police administration.

The arrests were made as part of the "Landfill" operation, led by the administration and supervised by the cantonal prosecutor's office of Zenica-Doboj Canton.

The suspects, aged between 35 and 59, were detained on allegations of participating in organized crime, abusing their power, leaking trade secrets, and money laundering.

The arrested individuals are believed to have been involved in corrupt activities during the construction of a section of Corridor Vc, a major highway project designed to connect BiH with Croatia and Hungary.

After being processed by the federal police administration, they will be handed over to the cantonal prosecutor's office for further legal action.
