MOSCOW, Sept. 6 (Xinhua) -- The "Magic of Shandong Province" photo exhibition opened at the China Cultural Center here on Thursday.

Running until Sept. 16, the exhibition highlights the unique charm and dynamic developments of Jinan and Zibo, two renowned historical and cultural cities in China's Shandong Province.

Under the Belt and Road Initiative, the economic and trade relationship between Shandong Province and Russia has been deepening. Shandong-made products are now widely available in the Russian market, serving as a prime example of China-Russia trade cooperation.

The exhibition showcases around 60 works by Chinese photographers, featuring Shandong's natural landscapes and its historical and cultural landmarks.

The leaders of both countries have announced that 2024 and 2025 are the China-Russia Years of Culture, with cultural exchanges between the two countries having significantly increased.

Minister Counsellor of the Chinese Embassy in Russia Feng Litao and First Deputy Chairperson of the Russia-China Friendship Association Galina Kulikova attended the opening ceremony of the exhibition.

At the ceremony, Feng noted the great economic potential of Shandong Province and the growing cooperation between the province and Russian regions.

"In the context of remarkable growth, the unprecedented development of Russian-Chinese relations and interstate ties, as well as growing economic cooperation, it becomes particularly important to develop cultural cooperation," said Kirill Barsky, vice-chairman of the Russia-China Friendship Society.

Russian media representatives, orientalists, businessmen, and Russian and international students were among the guests attending the ceremony.

The exhibition is organized by the Eurasian Bureau and the Shandong Bureau of China's Xinhua News Agency in cooperation with the China Cultural Center in Moscow.
