ATHENS, March 8 (Xinhua) -- Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis will meet with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Istanbul, the largest city in Turkey, on March 13, said Greek government spokesperson Giannis Oikonomou on Tuesday.
The prime minister will travel to Turkey to meet with the Istanbul-based Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, and was invited to dinner by the Turkish president, Greek national news agency AMNA quoted the spokesperson as saying.
"In this difficult time for the world, the two countries, despite our differences, face common challenges on a number of issues which we must resolve," the official stated, according to an e-mailed press release. ■
