ALMATY, Jan. 30 (Xinhua) -- Kazakhstan is prepared to boost its exports to Kyrgyzstan across 175 product categories by more than 203 million U.S. dollars, according to the press service of the Kazakh government on Thursday.

This was revealed following a meeting between Kazakh Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov and Kyrgyz Prime Minister Adylbek Kasymaliyev on the same day.

The expanded export range includes products from various sectors, including petrochemicals, food, metallurgy, machinery, pharmaceuticals, construction materials, among other goods.

Agriculture accounts for approximately 20 percent of total trade between the nations. Under the roadmap to boost agricultural exports, trade in the agro-industrial sector has grown by 5.5 percent in the first eleven months of 2024, totaling 313.6 million dollars. Kazakhstan's grain exports to Kyrgyzstan amounted to 40,400 tons, while flour exports totaled 53,200 tons.

It was also noted that bilateral trade between the two countries reached 1.6 billion dollars in the first eleven months of 2024. Maintaining this positive growth and enhancing the trade structure with a broader range of products is a central goal for future progress.
