NEW DELHI, Jan. 12 (Xinhua) -- At least five persons, including four women and a child, died in India's northern state of Uttarakhand on Sunday when the bus they were travelling in fell into an 80-feet deep gorge, local police said.
About 17 others sustained injuries in the accident, which involved a total of 22 passengers on the ill-fated bus. The accident occurred around 4:00 p.m. in the Pauri Garhwal district of Uttarakhand.
The injured individuals were transported to local hospitals, where their conditions were reported to be stable. ■
