PHNOM PENH, Jan. 7 (Xinhua) -- Samdech Techo Hun Sen, president of the ruling Cambodian People's Party (CPP), said on Tuesday that peace is invaluable for the kingdom's socio-economic development and poverty reduction.
Hun Sen, also the president of the senate, made the remarks during an event to mark the 46th anniversary of the Victory Day in Phnom Penh, which more than 20,000 people attended.
"We had been through decades of chronic war, so we know very well the invaluable importance of peace," he said.
Hun Sen called on the people to continue to support the CPP and the party-led government to prevent anyone or any force from destroying this hard-earned peace. ■
