ISLAMABAD, Dec. 26 (Xinhua) -- At least two people were killed and four others injured in an improvised explosive device (IED) blast in Pakistan's southwestern Balochistan province on Wednesday, police confirmed.
The incident happened in the Turbat district where the explosive device detonated near a vehicle carrying civilians, the district's police confirmed to media.
Local authorities said the explosion caused significant damage to the vehicle traveling along a rural road.
Security personnel reached the site after the attack and cordoned it off to facilitate the rescue operation and investigation process.
The injured were shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment, officials added.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack yet. ■
