COLOMBO, Dec. 26 (Xinhua) -- The Maldivian government plans to increase tourism revenue to 5 billion U.S. dollars in 2025, PSM News, the official state media of the Maldives, reported on Thursday quoting Minister of Tourism Ibrahim Faisal.
The minister told a ceremony held on Thursday morning that the country has seen 2 million tourists in 2024.
In 2025, tourism revenue will increase to around 5 billion dollars, Faisal said, adding that to achieve the goal, the administration is working to complete the construction of the new passenger terminal at Velana International Airport by next year. ■
