ISLAMABAD, Dec. 26 (Xinhua) -- Foreign exchange reserves of the State Bank of Pakistan have decreased by 228 million U.S. dollars due to external debt repayments, the central bank said in a statement on Thursday.
During the week ending on Dec. 20, the total foreign exchange reserves of the bank stood at about 11.8 billion dollars, the bank said.
Net foreign reserves held by commercial banks came in at around 4.5 billion U.S. dollars.
Total liquid foreign reserves held by the South Asian country were recorded at around 16.3 billion dollars. ■
