HANOI, Dec. 24 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam has set a target for total electricity production and imports of 347.5 billion kilowatt hours (kWh) in 2025, marking a 12.2 percent increase compared to 2024, Vietnam News cited the Ministry of Industry and Trade on Tuesday.
The country's total power generation capacity, excluding rooftop solar power, is anticipated to reach about 82,097 megawatt (MW), or a 6.2-percent increase next year, said the report.
According to the ministry, electricity supply in 2024 has largely met the needs of economic and social development, as well as the daily requirements of citizens.
Vietnam's national power grid is expected to generate 309.7 billion kWh of power by the end of 2024, up 10.1 percent from 2023 and 2 percent above the initial goal. ■
