JAKARTA, Dec. 24 (Xinhua) -- Indonesia's health authority said on Tuesday that it has established 1,574 medical posts nationwide to address health-related issues during the long year-end holidays.
Director General of Health Services at the Ministry of Health, Azhar Jaya, told a virtual press conference that the posts are strategically located along toll roads, at bus stations, ports, and airports, as well as in areas prone to accidents, including tourist destinations and entertainment spots.
"At these posts, we provide integrated basic services, such as general health checkups like blood pressure and blood sugar tests, as well as reflexology services. This ensures that the public can feel relaxed and secure as they continue their trips," Jaya said.
Each post is equipped with medical tools, including defibrillators and ambulances, with two-wheeled ambulances available to facilitate patient transport in case of traffic congestion.
According to the Ministry of Transportation, around 110 million Indonesians are expected to travel across the archipelago during the Christmas and New Year holidays. ■
