CHONBURI, Thailand, Dec. 23 (Xinhua) -- A traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) free clinic event was held on Sunday in Chonburi province in eastern Thailand. During the event, 16 TCM experts from China and Thailand provided free consultations and treatments to over 150 local residents.

The seventh "Traditional Chinese Medicine Health and Wellness in Thailand" was jointly organized by the Confucius Institute at Burapha University in Thailand and the Thai Traditional Medicine Association, with support from Chonburi Technological College and the Thai-Wenzhou Trade Association.

A-chara Banditnurak, Chonburi provincial secretary general, highlighted the long history and global reputation of the TCM, saying the event aimed to promote TCM knowledge, broaden healthcare options, and improve the health of the Thai people.

Xiang Zhiyong, director of the Confucius Institute at Burapha University, pointed out that this year marked the first participation of an expert team from Wenzhou Medical University, reflecting the growing collaboration between China and Thailand in the medical field.

"The event was an important example of deepening cultural and medical exchanges between the two nations," Xiang said.

Lin Danqian, president of the Thai Traditional Medicine Association, said the purpose of the event was to promote TCM knowledge and its therapeutic methods to enhance the health of local people, further invigorating the cooperation in the healthcare sector between China and Thailand.

The event, organized annually since 2016, has received widespread attention from various sectors of Thai society.
