NEW YORK, Dec. 17 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.5 jolted 16 km WNW of Port-Vila, Vanuatu at 18:17:25 GMT on Tuesday, the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) said.
The epicenter, with a depth of 55.6 km, was initially determined to be at 17.69 degrees south latitude and 168.17 degrees east longitude. ■
