PHNOM PENH, Dec. 11 (Xinhua) -- Cambodia and Morocco have vowed to bolster bilateral cooperation in trade, investment and tourism for the interest of the two countries and peoples, said a press release from Cambodia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Wednesday.

The commitment was made during the fourth session of political consultations between the two ministries of foreign affairs held in Phnom Penh last Friday and co-chaired by Chhouk Bunna, director general of the general department of Europe, America and Africa-Middle East of Cambodia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Omar Kadiri, director of Asian and Oceania affairs of the Moroccan Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates.

"The two co-chairs underscored the need to give new momentum to cooperation in trade and investment and agreed to establish a Cambodia-Morocco business forum," the press release said.

They also agreed to expedite efforts to finalize pending agreements, such as a draft agreement on reciprocal promotion and protection of investment, a draft agreement on the elimination of double taxation, and a draft framework agreement on economic, scientific, technical and cultural cooperation, it added.

Bunna also encouraged more activities in support of tourism cooperation between Cambodia and Morocco.

"To that end, both sides agreed to work toward the signing of a memorandum of understanding on tourism cooperation in the near future," the press release said.

Both sides reaffirmed their willingness to maintain good cooperation between the two countries in supporting each other's candidates in different international organizations, it added.

Furthermore, the two sides agreed to start working on a roadmap to deepen bilateral relations, the press release said, adding that they also exchanged views on regional and global issues of common concern.
