SEOUL, Nov. 27 (Xinhua) -- One person was dead and six others were wounded on Wednesday from a multi-vehicle pileup on an expressway in western South Korea, according to Yonhap news agency.
The pileup involving four sedans and one truck occurred at about 6:40 a.m. local time (2140 GMT) Tuesday near an entrance to a tunnel of the Seoul-Yangyang Expressway.
A sedan slipped on snow and was rear-ended by a 25-ton truck, into which three other passenger cars crashed.
An 81-year-old passenger aboard one of the ill-fated sedans was taken to a hospital and died.
Two drivers were seriously injured, and four others suffered minor injuries.
The police were investigating the exact cause of the accident. ■
