SEOUL, Nov. 27 (Xinhua) -- South Korea's tech giant Samsung Electronics announced on Wednesday new executives in its semiconductor business in a bid to overcome uncertain business environment at home and abroad and strengthen the competitiveness of semiconductor technology.
Jun Young-hyun, vice chairman and head of the device solutions division, was named chief executive officer (CEO) and will also become the head of memory business and Samsung Advanced Institute of Technology, Samsung said in a statement.
Han Jin-man, former executive vice president and president of device solutions America, was promoted to president and will lead the foundry business.
Nam Seok-woo, former president and head of FAB engineering & operations, was named chief technology officer for foundry business, a newly-created position.
Kim Yong-kwan, former executive vice president of business support task force, was promoted to president of management strategy at the device solutions division.
The reshuffle also affected five other executives, according to the statement. ■
