YANGON, Nov. 14 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar will hold its mid-year gems emporium for 2024 in the capital city of Nay Pyi Taw this month, Myanmar Gems Emporium Central Committee said on Thursday.
The 10-day event, organized by the committee, will be held from Nov. 18 to 27, displaying lots of pearls, jades and gems, the report said.
Myanmar's gems and jewelry merchants are allowed to attend the event and make purchases in compliance with related rules and regulations, it said.
The Southeast Asian country held its last gems emporium in Nay Pyi Taw in May, and a total of 379 pearl lots, 88 gem lots and 3,251 jade lots were sold during the 10-day event.
The gems emporium, sponsored by Myanmar's Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation, has been held since 1964. ■
