HANOI, Oct. 9 (Xinhua) -- Foreign investors, especially those from Europe, are very interested in green, clean development and the semiconductor chip industry in Vietnam, Vietnam News Agency cited VinaCapital CEO and founding partner Don Lam on Wednesday.

VinaCapital Chief Investment Officer Alex Hambly said in the short term, Vietnam's economy was growing strongly thanks to a low interest rate and many policies that support the real estate market, thereby expanding consumption levels and boosting gross domestic product (GDP) growth.

In the long term, there are several main driving forces for growth, including foreign direct investment-led industrialization and the rapidly growing middle class in Vietnam, he said.

Vietnam's semiconductor industry hopes to secure annual revenue of more than 25 billion U.S. dollars and an added value growth rate of 10-15 percent by 2030, according to the strategy for developing the country's semiconductor industry by 2030, with a vision for 2050.
