BANGKOK, Oct. 7 (Xinhua) -- Thailand's stock investor confidence reached a record high in September thanks to significantly improved impetus from fund inflow and the government's economic stimulus, a survey showed on Monday.

The investor confidence index, which predicts market conditions over the next three months, stood at 175.64 last month, jumping from 132.51 in August and entering the "very bullish" zone, according to the Federation of Thai Capital Market Organizations (FETCO).

Investor confidence across all categories surged, with retail investors up 2.3 percent, proprietary investors up 21.2 percent, institutional investors up 16.7 percent and foreign investors up 60 percent, the FETCO said in a statement.

Despite that, confidence remained undermined by international conflicts, local political uncertainties and fluctuations in the baht currency, said FETCO Chairman Kobsak Pootrakool.

In September, the Stock Exchange of Thailand saw a continued rise due to the launch of a state investment fund and the establishment of a new government, with additional boosts from the cash handout stimulus program and the baht strengthening against the U.S. dollar, Kobsak said in a statement.

The FETCO noted that the policy rate cut trends in major economies and rising tensions in the Middle East are factors to be monitored.
