NEW DELHI, Sept. 23 (Xinhua) -- The Film Federation of India on Monday announced that Hindi film Laapataa Ladies (Lost Ladies) is the country's official entry for the 2025 Oscars under the Foreign Film Category.
The film has been selected from all Indian nominations of 12 Hindi films, six Tamil and four Malayalam films. The jury has been led by 13 members this year.
The film is a comedy about the misadventures of two young brides who board the same train. Due to a twist in events, the brides inadvertently get exchanged with different grooms. Both women go through a rollercoaster of comical misadventures because of this. It is a blend of mistaken identities and laugh-out-loud escapades.
The film was released in theaters in India on March 1. ■
