HONG KONG, July 21 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.3 jolted 66 km ESE of Akkeshi, Japan at 0427 GMT on Sunday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.
The epicenter, with a depth of 23.9 km, was initially determined to be at 42.71 degrees north latitude and 145.54 degrees east longitude. ■
