KUALA LUMPUR, Sept. 9 (Xinhua) -- Malaysia's manufacturing sales value in July rose 23.8 percent to 148.4 billion ringgit (33 billion U.S. dollars) from a year ago, official data showed Friday.
The growth in sales value for July was driven by the electrical and electronics products subsector which expanded 26.1 percent year on year, the Department of Statistics Malaysia said in a statement.
Meanwhile, petroleum, chemical, rubber and plastic products subsector grew 19.1 percent; non-metallic mineral products, basic metal and fabricated metal products subsector surged 44.2 percent.
As for the period of January to July, the sales value of the manufacturing sector rose 16.3 percent to 224 billion U.S. dollars as compared to the same period in 2021. Endtiem
