100 mln people vaccinated against COVID-19 in Bangladesh

DHAKA, Feb. 17 (Xinhua) -- Bangladesh has vaccinated more than 100 million people with the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccines.

More than half of the vaccines administered were China's Sinopharm.

According to the Management Information System of Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), "as many as 101,190,890 people received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccines (including 52,084,442 Chinese vaccine doses) in the country as of Feb. 15."

Also, nearly 73 million people have been vaccinated with two shots, with 46,959,203 receiving Sinopharm as of Tuesday, and nearly 3 million got a booster shot as booster jobs only available for those above 40.

Bangladesh began its COVID-19 vaccination drive last January to contain the pandemic that had spread across the country.
