KABUL, Jan. 15 (Xinhua) -- A girl was shot dead in Kabul on Thursday night and her father called for justice, a local television channel reported Saturday.
Family members of the victim said the girl, named Zainab, was returning from a wedding party on Thursday night but came under attack next to a police checkpoint and lost her life, Tolonews reported.
The girl was a bank employee and killed by gunshots in Police District 13, according to her family member.
In the meantime, Kabul police spokesman Mubin Khan has assured the victim's family that the case would be investigated and perpetrators would be punished.
Similarly, locals found a dead body from Abdullah village of the eastern Paktia province on Friday and provincial official Khaliqyar Ahmadzai said the issue would be investigated. ■
