MUMBAI, Jan. 15 (Xinhua) -- India's largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki on Saturday raised prices of its models by up to 4.3 percent to partially overcome the impact of rising production costs, according to its filing with the Bombay Stock Exchange.

The rise in prices vary from 0.1 percent to 4.3 percent on the higher side for the company, which sells a range of cars from Alto to S-Cross priced between 4,248 U.S. dollars and 16,937 dollars, respectively.

In 2021, the Indian auto maker raised vehicle prices thrice by a cumulative about 5 percent to overcome the rising inputs costs.

Last month, the company indicated that it would hike prices due to rising costs of essential commodities like steel, aluminium, copper, plastic and precious metals over the last one year.
