LUANDA, Jan. 12 (Xinhua) -- Angola has registered 170 cholera cases as of 6 p.m. local time (1700 GMT) on Saturday, the Ministry of Health said on Saturday.
In the past 24 hours, three cholera deaths and 51 new cases have been reported. And the outbreak has now spread to two additional municipalities in the capital province of Luanda.
National emergency response measures have been activated as the cholera outbreak continues to escalate since the first confirmed case was reported on Tuesday. ■
