GABORONE, Nov. 15 (Xinhua) -- Botswana's long wait to return to continental rugby competition is over, as the men's senior national team prepares to compete in the Rugby Africa repechage tournament in Morocco from November 18 to 24, 2024.

The team, known as "The Vultures," last participated in the continental rugby tournament in 2018 and will be looking to secure promotion to the top division of the circuit. They are set to face Morocco, Madagascar, and Cameroon in Group B.

Botswana head coach Andrew Paxinos announced a 26-player squad on Friday, ahead of the team's departure to Morocco on Saturday.

"We've been preparing intensively for this competition," Paxinos told the media. "Our goal is to finish at the top of the group and earn promotion to the top division, where we will have the opportunity to compete in the World Cup qualifiers against other top-ranked African teams."
