TUNIS, Oct. 24 (Xinhua) -- Tunisian security units have dismantled a large-scale drug trafficking network and arrested 205 dealers, suppliers and wanted elements described as dangerous, the county's Interior Ministry said Thursday.
"Following the instructions of Tunisian President Kais Saied to double efforts to dismantle criminal networks, especially those involved in drug trafficking, national security units launched a large-scale and simultaneous security operation at dawn today, targeting drug dealers and dangerous criminal elements," the ministry said in a statement.
Apart from arresting those drug traffickers in the Grand Tunis area, the largest metropolitan area in Tunisia consisting of the governorates of Tunis, Ariana, Manouba and Ben Arous, the security units also seized varying quantities of narcotics, sums of money and bladed weapons, the statement noted. ■
