LUSAKA, Oct. 27 (Xinhua) -- A coalition of political parties in Zambia on Thursday urged Zambia and other African countries to learn from China's development agenda which galvanizes its citizens to promote development.
The Zambia Center for Inter-party Dialogue (ZCID) said apart from receiving support from China, African countries should obtain lessons from the long developmental history of China by embracing how the systems have been operationalized to achieve results for their people.
"We should not concentrate on asking for funds and we should be able to ask for ideas and ways in which Africa can adapt lessons to proactively push developmental agenda to avoid being perpetual receivers to becoming development partners in the global economy," Doreen Njovu-Kabwe, the ZCID Executive Director told Xinhua.
The official also applauded the long bilateral relationship between China and Zambia established by the two countries' founding fathers that culminated in projects such as the Tanzania-Zambia Railway Authority railway line. ■
