KABUL, Oct. 11 (Xinhua) -- A major trade exhibition opened in Kabul, attracting hundreds of domestic and foreign investors to boost Afghanistan's trade ties with neighboring countries and unlock fresh opportunities for trade and investment.

A total of 323 domestic and foreign companies presented their products across approximately 700 exhibition booths. Spanning six days from Wednesday to Monday, the fair serves as a high-profile platform to showcase Afghanistan's economic potential, forge business connections, and explore opportunities for commercial collaboration and investment.

Qasemi, an Iranian exhibitor whose company specializes in the transportation of goods via railway networks, views Afghanistan as a nation possessing significant potential to facilitate regional transit and connect markets across the region.

Qasemi urged businesspeople to pursue investment opportunities in Afghanistan. "The country has considerable potential and a bright future in trade," he said.

Azam Jaan, an Uzbek stall runner, regards such exhibitions as invaluable platforms for showcasing products, expanding commercial linkages, and cultivating cooperation among businesses from diverse countries.

Jaan displayed his company's construction materials at the fair, seeking to attract Afghan customers by underscoring their affordability and durability. "The products we have brought are used in construction. They are competitively priced and durable," Jaan told Xinhua.

Rohullah Sadat, a representative of a food manufacturing company in Kandahar province, hopes the event will enable the company to engage with foreign businesses, secure commercial agreements, and reach new customers beyond Afghanistan's borders. "We hope to sign commercial contracts with foreign companies," Sadat said.

He considers exhibitions of this nature an essential platform for promoting locally manufactured goods, attracting new clientele, and consolidating the market presence of Afghan products.

Addressing the opening ceremony, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, deputy prime minister for economic affairs, characterized the exhibition as a vital initiative for showcasing Afghanistan's economic potential, supporting domestic production, expanding trade relations, and reinforcing commercial ties between Afghanistan and the wider region.■
