WARSAW, Sept. 9 (Xinhua) -- One person died after a passenger train derailed following a collision with a truck at a railway crossing in Mazowieckie province in central Poland on Wednesday, local media reported.

Emergency services initially reported 20 people injured, including four seriously. One of the four seriously injured later died, the Polish Press Agency (PAP) reported, citing the Mazowieckie fire service. The four included the train driver, the truck driver and two passengers.

Polish rail operator PKP Intercity said the accident occurred at around 11:25 a.m. local time (0925 GMT) in Sokolniki Suche. The train, traveling from Lublin to Szczecin and carrying about 120 people, collided with a truck that had entered the railway crossing, causing part of the train to derail.

Rail traffic between Wolanow and Przysucha was suspended following the accident. Replacement buses were arranged for passengers, while emergency services continued working at the scene.
