BISHKEK, July 27 (Xinhua) -- A photo exhibition marking the 25th anniversary of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) opened in Bishkek, the Kyrgyz capital, on Monday.
Titled "Pooling the Strength of the SCO: Moving Toward Development and Prosperity," the exhibition features 32 photographs arranged in five sections: "A Shared Journey Over 25 Years," "Strengthening the Foundation for Safeguarding Peace," "Shared Prosperity: Unlocking New Opportunities," "Bridges Between Hearts: A Shared Future," and "A New Chapter for a Community with a Shared Future."
Jointly organized by the SCO Secretariat and Xinhua News Agency, the exhibition showcases the organization's practical cooperation over the past quarter-century while capturing moments that reflect the growing friendship among the peoples of countries participating in the SCO framework.
Kadyrbek Sarbayev, a senior expert with the SCO Secretariat, said the exhibition traces the SCO's journey from its founding and early development to its emergence as a major transregional organization.
"The SCO's role is growing year by year. China, as a founding member of the organization, has played a very important role," he said.
Looking at the photographs spanning the past 25 years, visitors can trace the different stages of the SCO's development, said Andrei Mokhar, director-general of the Belarusian Telegraph Agency.
"When we look at these photographs taken over the past 25 years, we can see the different stages of the organization's development," said Andrei Mokhar, director-general of the Belarusian Telegraph Agency.
"We can see where it started, what steps were taken, how it evolved and how that journey compares with what we have achieved today. Together, these moments form a complete picture of the remarkable path we have traveled," he said.
According to Mokhar, the SCO has demonstrated through its own development that countries with different cultures, political systems and economic models can work together in pursuit of the common good.
Kyrgyz expert Ismail Dairov said the exhibition highlighted the SCO's remarkable developments over the past 25 years.
"It is clear what a remarkable journey the SCO has made over the past 25 years. The organization's promising future is something to be welcomed," he said. ■
