BEIJING, April 2 (Xinhua) -- The top-ranked Shanghai Sharks beat the Jilin Northeast Tigers 110-89 for their 14th straight win, while the Beijing Ducks struggled in an 81-66 loss to the Zhejiang Golden Bulls in the 33rd round of the 2025-26 Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) regular season.

Despite defeats in the previous two rounds, Jilin trailed by only three points in the first quarter before cutting the deficit to one. However, Shanghai soon went on a 19-2 run early in the second quarter to take control and carried a 13-point lead into halftime.

Brandon Goodwin scored 11 points in the third quarter to help Shanghai gradually extend the lead to more than 20 points, ending Jilin's hopes of a comeback.

Goodwin finished with 24 points, seven rebounds and eight assists, while Kyle Fogg added 19 points. Six Shanghai players scored in double figures.

Five players scoring in double digits was not enough for the Beijing Ducks to secure a victory as they were held to 66 points by the Zhejiang Golden Bulls. Former NBA player JaVale McGee had 11 points, seven rebounds and five turnovers in 17 minutes.

"This was an extremely poor performance. Statistics show we had problems of all aspects. We still have a long, hard road ahead, and it all depends on how we approach our games. We should take these issues as motivation and lessons to drive us forward," commented Beijing head coach Xu Limin.

The Nanjing Monkey Kings announced the signing of American rapper Jermaine Lamarr Cole, known as "J. Cole," on Thursday. The 41-year-old Grammy Award winner appeared courtside for Nanjing's 89-86 loss to the Ningbo Rockets.

In other games in this round, Grant Riller hit a game-winning 3-pointer to help the Beijing Royal Fighters edge the Guangzhou Loong Lions 89-88, the winless Sichuan Blue Whales lost to the Shanxi Loongs 103-81, the Shenzhen Aviators upset the Zhejiang Lions 109-94, the Qingdao Eagles prevailed the Tianjin Pioneers 94-90, the Shandong Heroes beat the Fujian Sturgeons 102-93, the Liaoning Flying Leopards thrashed the Xinjiang Flying Tigers 87-75, and the Guangdong Southern Tigers defeated the Jiangsu Dragons 101-92.
