SHEXIAN, March 4 (Xinhua) -- Local villagers in Shexian County, east China's Anhui Province, have the tradition of making fish-shaped lanterns, an intangible cultural heritage, on festival days to pray for harvest and good fortune.

The parade featuring fish-shaped lanterns is an important folk cultural event celebrated during traditional festivals.

Nowadays, as the fish-shaped lantern has become well known, local people are developing new businesses connected to it, such as tourism and cultural or creative products.
