KABUL, April 24 (Xinhua) -- Afghanistan's central bank will inject 15 million U.S. dollars into the local market on Saturday to maintain the stability of the national currency the afghani, the central bank said in a statement Thursday.
"The bidders, including moneychangers and private banks, should deposit the necessary money in cash in the form of afghani in the central bank -- Da Afghanistan Bank," said the statement posted on social media.
The bank, aiming to prevent the fall of the afghani, has injected millions of U.S. dollars into the money-exchange market over the past two years.
The Afghan interim government, since assuming power in August 2021, has taken a series of measures to maintain the stability of the afghani against foreign currencies. ■
