TASHKENT, April 22 (Xinhua) -- Uzbekistan implemented projects funded by foreign investment worth over 8.7 billion U.S. dollars in the first quarter of 2025, up 20 percent year on year, the press service of the Uzbek president said Monday.
"Due to our country's active external policy and favorable business climate, the volumes of investments continue to grow steadily," the press service said in a statement.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on Monday was briefed on foreign investments in the first quarter of this year.
For 2025, the country expects to attract 42 billion dollars of foreign investment and implement 81 large, as well as 8,000 small and medium-sized projects, said the press office. ■
