SYDNEY, April 14 (Xinhua) -- One woman has died and 10 more people have been hospitalized following a major three-vehicle crash in the northern suburbs of Brisbane in the Australian state of Queensland.
The police said on Monday that a van appeared to have crashed into two stationary vehicles in Bald Hills, 18 km north of central Brisbane, at about 9:40 p.m. local time on Sunday.
A woman who was in one of the stationary vehicles died at the scene and 10 people were taken to the hospital with various injuries, according to a police statement.
The Australian Broadcasting Corporation reported that three men suffered life-threatening injuries, with two sustaining head and limb injuries.
The remaining seven people who were injured were hospitalized in a stable condition.
The police said that forensic crash unit investigations into the incident were continuing. ■
