BUENOS AIRES, April 7 (Xinhua) -- A second-half goal from Juan Randazzo gave Deportivo Riestra a 1-0 home win over Platense in Argentina's Primera Division Apertura tournament on Monday.
The visitor was reduced to 10 men when Rodrigo Herrera was shown a second yellow card for a bad challenge on Mario Sanabria just before the hour.
The host capitalized on its numerical advantage two minutes later as Randazzo fired a close-range effort past goalkeeper Juan Cozzani.
Deportivo Riestra is now fifth in the 15-team Group B standings with 19 points, six points behind leader Independiente. Platense is sixth, three points further back.
Elsewhere in Argentina's Primera Division on Monday, Atletico Tucuman won 3-2 at home to Instituto Cordoba and Newell's Old Boys prevailed 2-0 at Tigre. ■
