NEW YORK, April 7 (Xinhua) -- U.S. stocks opened sharply lower Monday as fears grew that U.S. President Trump's sweeping tariffs could destabilize the global economy.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 1,200 points, and the Nasdaq composite was 4 percent lower. The S&P 500 index slumped was down more than 20 percent from its all-time highs. ■
