RAMALLAH, April 4 (Xinhua) -- Two Palestinians were killed in the ongoing Israeli raids in the West Bank, the Palestinian official news agency WAFA reported Friday.

Hussein Jamil Hardan, 42, was killed by Israeli forces in the city of Jenin, northern West Bank, at dawn on Friday, WAFA said, adding that his body had been transferred to the local government hospital.

Hardan's death raised the number of deceased in Jenin and its camp since the onset of a large-scale Israeli military campaign in the area in January to 36, it added.

In a separate attack on Thursday night, Youssef Bakr Zaoul, 17, was killed by Israeli bullets near the town of Husan, west of Bethlehem, southern West Bank, WAFA reported.

The Israeli army stormed the area, and heavy gunshots were heard, it added.

The Israeli army has not commented on these incidents yet.

On Thursday, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said in a statement that its troops, along with the Israeli Security Agency and Police forces, were continuing operations in the northern West Bank as part of the "counter-terrorism activity" in the area.

Also on Friday, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East warned that the ongoing Israeli operations are causing the largest population displacement in the West Bank since the 1967 Middle East war.

"It (the Israeli campaign) has resulted in systematic destruction, forced displacement, and demolition orders affecting Palestinian families and refugee camps," the agency said on social media platform X. "The situation remains highly concerning."
