DHAKA, March 31 (Xinhua) -- Thousands of Bangladeshis in Dhaka celebrated Eid al-Fitr with a joyful and colorful procession here Monday.
This year's Eid parade, organized by the Dhaka North City Corporation, represented a tradition inspired by the Bengal Sultanate and Mughal eras.
The parade included traditional instruments, decorated carriages, and puppet shows, attracting thousands from all backgrounds.
Following the parade, a cultural program was held at the National Parliament building.
Additionally, the local government has hosted a two-day Eid fair with over 200 stalls, entertainment for children, and traditional treats. ■
