KABUL, March 28 (Xinhua) -- Three travelers have been confirmed dead and seven others sustained injuries as a vehicle plunged into a ravine in northern Afghanistan's Badakhshan province on Thursday, provincial police spokesman Ehsanullah Kamgar said Friday.
The mishap took place on Thursday afternoon in Shahri Buzurg district, leaving three commuters dead on the spot and injuring seven others, some in critical condition, the officer said.
Reckless driving on congested roads and lack of safety measures are often blamed for road accidents in Afghanistan. ■
