JAKARTA, March 24 (Xinhua) -- Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto officiated the swearing-in of 31 new Indonesian ambassadors at the Presidential Palace on Monday.
Of these appointments, 25 ambassadors are career diplomats, while six come from non-diplomatic backgrounds, including a former Constitutional Court judge, a retired Air Force chief, and former lawmakers.
Notable appointments include former Constitutional Court Chief Justice Manahan Sitompul as ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina, and former legislator Junimart Girsang as ambassador to Italy, Malta, San Marino, Cyprus, and multiple international organizations such as the Food and Agriculture Organization and the World Food Programme. Retired Air Marshal Yuyu Sutisna was assigned to Morocco and Mauritania. ■
