MANILA, March 24 (Xinhua) -- A three-year-old boy died in a residential fire that hit a residential area in the Philippine capital on Monday, the Philippines' Bureau of Fire Protection said.
The bureau said the victim was left alone inside a room when the fire broke out on early Monday morning in Mandaluyong City. His father was slaughtering pigs for his store when the incident occurred.
Although the fire was already "under control," the bureau said firefighters have yet to completely put out the blaze more than four hours after it started.
Firefighters are investigating the cause of the fire. ■
